Practice Safe Surfing

It's Real.

In 2002, over 10 million people became the victims of identity theft.  Their lives were turned upside-down, because some unscrupulous person gained access to their personal information, and used it to commit fraud and other crimes.

It's Devastating.

On average, victims of identity theft spend over $1,400 and 200 hours trying to clear their reputations and return their lives to "normal."  Until that is accomplished, they may be unable to secure credit cards and other loans, and may even be turned down for employment, based upon their credit history.

It's Not the Only Online Threat.

Aside from identity theft, many criminals turn to the internet to perpetrate other crimes, as well.  For example, some pedophiles will turn to online chat rooms to try to find young victims.

It's Preventable.

There are some simple steps you can take to be sure that you are not the victim of identity theft.  The goal of this website is to provide information for you, with tips and ideas to help keep you safe.
